BackNortholt High School and its A Level students look ahead to a bright future
Posted on: Aug 15We are proud to celebrate our students’ achievements on A Level results day, particularly those in the applied general courses and our unique sports programmes, who have demonstrated impressive progress and success.
75% of students attained A*-C in their BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Applied Science and 100% A*-C in their BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate in Applied Science. These courses have seen significant numbers of students making remarkable positive value-added progress, showcasing the strength of the curriculum and the dedication of our teaching staff. In response to the growing interest and success, we are excited to announce the launch of our T Level Science offer from September, which is designed to provide students with a robust pathway into the science industry through the combination of classroom learning and practical experience.
We are also proud to highlight the exceptional accomplishments of students enrolled in our Sports Coaching course, delivered in partnership with Queens Park Rangers (QPR). This programme, which serves a vulnerable cohort, has achieved its best-ever set of results this year.
Another area of significant accomplishment is within our Future Stars BTEC Sports course, where we celebrate the incredible triumph of one of our students, Henry who has earned the highest possible grade of D*D*D*. Henry has secured a place at the renowned UCL (University College London) to study Psychology with Education.
Emma Chambers at Future Stars, commented:
“The high performing sports programmes at Northolt High School, particularly in Volleyball and Basketball, continue to nurture and develop talent, and we are proud to see our students excelling on both a personal and professional level.”
There have been many other individual success stories across the cohort, notably:
- Muhammed secured a phenomenal AAA in A Level Maths, Chemistry and Biology and is delighted to have secured a place at the University of Southampton to study Medicine.
- Rim achieved an impressive D*D*D in BTEC Applied Science and has accepted a place at her first choice university, Kingston to study Pharmacy.
- Future Stars Programme student, Oliwier attained D*DD in his BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport. He has obtained a scholarship to study English in America whilst pursuing his volleyball career ambition.
- Yaaji opened his A Level results to reveal he has been accepted at his first choice university, Bangor to study Marine Biology and Zoology.
- Tom has been accepted at the University of Nottingham to study Engineering after achieving D*DD in his Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport.
- Shifa aspires to become a Solicitor and is one step closer to realising her ambition after gaining DDD in BTEC Applied Science and securing a place to read Law at City, University of London.
- Abhi sees a future in Real Estate or 3D Design and is looking forward to studying Building Surveying at the University of Reading. He attained an exceptional D*D*D in BTEC Applied Science.
- Future Optometrist, Mudasar achieved D*DD in his BTEC Applied Science studies and is looking forward to attending the University of Plymouth in September.
Headteacher Marion Budd commented:
“Our students’ hard work and determination have truly paid off, and it is wonderful to see so many of them achieving the grades they need to take the next steps in their educational journeys. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them.”
These results have opened doors for students to pursue a variety of exciting paths. Many have secured places at universities, including UCL, Nottingham, Southampton, Portsmouth and City of London, while others have chosen to embark on apprenticeship programmes or enter the workforce, armed with the skills and knowledge gained during their time at Northolt High School and Sixth Form.
“As we celebrate these achievements, we also recognise the importance of looking forward,” added Marion Budd.
“At Northolt High School, we are dedicated to continuously improving and evolving to meet the needs of our students and local community. With exciting developments on the horizon, including the construction of a new state-of-the-art building and a rebranding initiative, the future at our school is brighter than ever. We are confident that these developments will enrich our school community and inspire even greater achievements in the years to come.”
