Why Work with Us?
We are a small and friendly school with a well-established ethos of strong and personalised support for staff.
We offer great leadership development
We involve all members of staff in developing and improving our school through our Sycol leadership development programme. Termly innovation projects involve every member of staff which help us to quickly and effectively share ideas. These projects ensure that systematic school improvement is embedded in everything that we do whilst also forging strong partnerships across the staff team.
We take your professional and career development seriously
We have a well-established CPD programme for teaching staff with core and optional sessions offered throughout the school year. In addition, middle leaders plan subject specific development for teachers. Our teaching and support staff appraisal cycles are focused on ensuring that training and necessary support is well focused and of high quality. We are currently working in partnership with the Teacher Development Trust to support us in further improving our CPD and have been accredited with their Bronze Award.
We carefully manage staff workload
Our school calendar is carefully constructed so that we balance staff workload, ensuring that the assessment cycle is well spread to allow sufficient time for feedback. We have also introduced a feedback cycle across the school which includes routine and regular peer and self-assessment in addition to teacher assessment. Our Northolt Feedback Sheet provides a quick and easy mechanism for teachers to provide feedback for students which significantly lightens teacher workload. We have an early finish every Friday which also promotes a good work / life balance.
We offer great Sports Facilities
In addition to our Sports Facilities on site which are used by many local clubs in the evenings and weekends and are available to staff, members of staff can also get a discounted membership at Northolt Leisure Centre which is close to the school.
We are geographically well placed
If you’re driving, we are close to the M4, M25 and M40 and we have plenty of free parking on site. If you travel by public transport, we are close to Northolt Station on the Central Line and a bus ride away from South Harrow Station on the Piccadilly Line.
We offer subsidised accommodation for new teaching staff
We have converted our old school keepers’ house to accommodation which we let at a subsidised fee to support new members of the teaching team.
We adopt a consultative approach to planning the direction and improvement of our school
We routinely consult staff to seek input on changes and adopt a transparent approach to curriculum and improvement planning. Staff feedback consistently shows that they value this approach.
We are part of the Ealing Learning Partnership
The majority of Ealing's schools work together in partnership with Ealing Council to provide shared training, collaboration and professional development opportunities for all Ealing school staff. Find out what it's like to be part of ELP by watching these videos:
